BET's Rip the Runway Turned High Fashion, Creatively Fashion Produced by Balan Inc.

March 12, 2012 - PRLog -- BET’s annual Rip the Runway 2012 fashion show hosted by the crowd pleasing duo, Pooch Hall of The Game and Selita Ebanks, was held at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on February 29, 2012. The show will grace televisions nationwide on March 21, 2012 @ 10 pm EST.

BET’s Rip the Runway is one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the year for all fashion enthusiasts. The show is highly praised for shining a spot light on the hottest up and coming fashion and accessory designers, tastemakers and of course, the fiercest models to showcase the designs. In previous years viewers tuned in to watch Rip the Runway's star powered spectacular performances but, this year it’s all about the avant-garde fashion statement pieces. agency single handedly transformed the look of BET’s Rip the Runway to high fashion; by bringing in their celebrity style team to conceptualize the show, and to hand select each designer. The Fashion Director of the show, Jason Rembert, dually a superstar A-list celebrity stylist kept us surprised all night, he and the team presented displays of Hollywood glam mixed with 90’s inspired urban street wear and packed everything in between.  

The annual fashion show embodied the theme “Music, Fashion, Freedom”. The shows highlights were an eclectic mix of fabrics and colors, as was the diverse blend of more than 50 designers. One of the most raved about fashion segments of the night was the Fashion Freedom segment styled by Kimberly V and Jason Rembert; a range of looks from futuristic bodysuits by Una Burke to robotic iridescent frocks by Laquan Smith.  Another segment favorite was styled by Lindsay Driscoll, Curvy Couture, proving you can be ‘size sexy’ and a fashionista. The male models were strutting their stuff in edgy, rugby-meets-varsity outfits selected by Tiffany Hasbourne. Extravagant hairstyles were the creative conceptualization of Tracy Balan paired with, dynamic dramatized makeup engineered by Rebecca Casciano. The show prides itself on using models from all walks of life and, encourages viewers to be daring by making fashion statements with their
every day style—doing so defines a statement of success.
