Hunters in the Snow Bruegel

-- Dutch art has a long list of masters going back many centuries and it is difficult to pick out just a few of these as the best, but Pieter Bruegel the Elder must surely be someone who does stand out from most thanks to the importance of his career which really helped to bring about a greater interest and respect for European landscape painting when previously this genre had not been seen as key as portraits and religious based art.
Pieter Bruegel created Hunters in the Snow which is perhaps his best known of all paintings and is sometimes refered to as Return of the Hunters too. This landscape work is typical of his style, with great amounts of detail used right across the canvas which leaves a real longevity to the painting as well as a truly overwhelming finish which anyone can enjoy. Bruegel was an artist who was very interested in the poorer people of his country and they would be covered in great detail across his paintings in all manner of different activities as he would look to bring attention to their lives and this now proves to be a open minded idea.
We can conclude that those looking to appreciate paintings by this Dutch master should certainly check out some of the many online stores who offer very good quality reproductions of his paintings and in most cases at a price that most people can afford. Others like handmade reproductions but these can be expensive and may not be accurate enough to the original. Hunters in the Snow is probably the finest painting to have come from his career and it ranks amongst the most reproduced of any Dutch landscape, competing strongly against paintings by Rembrandt, Bosch, Vermeer and many more. His Fall of Icarus is also well worth checking out as well. Discover more information at http://pieterbruegel.org/
