Guttering expert aims to raise awareness of the damage caused by concrete gutters

March 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Guttering expert Tony Knopp has recently undertaken several large-scale operations for local councils involving the replacement of concrete gutters with modern aluminium designs. This has remedied a large number of on-going problems with dampness and water damage in council properties that other methods had failed to solve. The success of these projects has convinced Tony that the problems caused by concrete gutters are more widespread than many people think. To help raise awareness of the problem, he has compiled his years of experience in a new booklet that he is making available for free.

“Concrete gutters are one of those ideas that probably seemed great on paper when they first became popular in the fifties and sixties, but over the years, they’ve caused a horrendous amount of damage to people’s homes.
“As concrete gutters age, they inevitably start cracking and letting in water, leading to problems with dampness that can cause both cosmetic and structural damage, not to mention health problems for the residents. The problem is that very few people realise that their gutters are the cause and end up spending thousands trying to find the source of the problem when in fact replacing their gutters would solve it virtually overnight.
“Local councils are already becoming aware of the problem and taking measures to remedy it, but anyone who owns a property with concrete gutters is going to need to deal with them sooner rather than later if they don’t want to be faced with a hefty repair bill in the future.
