Polished For Prom, Inc. Set To Host Upcoming Fundraiser

March 8, 2012 - PRLog -- BALTIMORE, MD- On Thursday March 15, Polished for Prom, Inc. will host a happy hour fundraiser at Baltimore’s award-winning restaurant Jimmy's Famous Seafood, located at 6526 Holabird Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224. The event will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m, and proceeds will benefit Polished For Prom’s program that sponsors the prom of Baltimore-area high school seniors who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial hardship. The happy hour has a suggested $5 donation and will include food and drink specials, and a silent auction with autographed memorabilia donated by some of the Baltimore Ravens.

Each year, one of Polished for Prom's staple events is a contest that awards ultimate prom experiences to young women who are unable to attend prom due to financial constraints. Candidates are required to be in good academic standing, have financial need, and submit essays that explain their hardships and what attending prom will mean to them. Winners receive a prom gown, shoes, accessories, make-up application, hair styling, manicure and pedicure, transportation to prom, and professional photographs of their experience. One winner will be selected from each city: Baltimore, Md., Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, Pa.
