Castle Group’s Cathy Donnelly Named Non-Profit Board Leader of the Year

March 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Cathy Donnelly, Director of Community Relations at Castle Group, was recently named Outstanding Non-Profit Leader of the Year by 2-1-1 Broward. The award honors the recipient’s visionary leadership, ethical integrity, collaboration in the broader community as well as creativity and innovation to successfully address core community issues.

Donnelly is the President and incoming Chair at the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2004. Additionally, she serves on the United Way of Broward County Allocations Committee and is a member of the Tocqueville Society for the United Way. Cathy started K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Service Program) for the BGCBC in August of 2004 in one Davie Club. Today K.I.S.S. serves over 3000 free, nutritious snack and free, nutritious suppers each school day in all 12 Broward County Clubs.    

“It is truly an honor to be recognized for our work in the community and as a Board member at the Boys and Girls Club,” said Donnelly. “We all work tirelessly for a cause dear to our hearts. This award recognizes how everyone has the ability to help for the greater good.”

2-1-1 Broward partners with more than 800 local non-profit organizations which together offer more than 4,000 programs and services for Broward County residents. The mission of 2-1-1 Broward is to provide 24-hour comprehensive helpline and support services for individuals in the community seeking crisis intervention assistance and/or information and referrals to health and human services in Broward County.
