March 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Italian pop artist and philanthropist Dr. Benedetta Paravia, who is more popularly known as Princess Bee, has revealed that her non-profit organization, ‘ANGELS’ has launched a project called ‘Renewing Al Amal Orphanage,’ which aims to provide Palestinian orphans affected by the conflict in Gaza with the necessary tools and assets for development and enhancing their psychomotor learning abilities.

According to Princess Bee, ANGELS has already started on improving the infrastructure of the Al Amal orphanage and will also donate computers, bicycles, Playstation consoles and gym equipment for the facility’s newly opened gym. The foundation is setting up an artistic laboratory focusing on creating ceramic works and will also come with a library housing an extensive line of educational books. Princess Bee also pointed out that plans are also being set for 18 of the orphans to be brought to the UAE for a brief summer vacation. Helping the foundation with the program is Dr. Abdelwahhab Alborno, a leading Philanthropist from the Gaza Strip.

“For the last few years now, my foundation, ANGELS, has maintained its commitment to help children who have been affected by the conflict, especially Palestinian,” said Princess Bee. “Through our new program, ‘Renewing Al Amal Orphanage,’ we will be able to live up to this promise. In fact we have already set the ball rolling by working on improving the orphanage’s facilities and also bringing in valuable equipment and tools of learning to help develop the children’s learning and psychomotor abilities. We hope that this program can help make a difference for these orphans and stimulate their desire towards learning, reading and the arts.”

The Al Amal orphanage, which was founded in 1949, continues to provide shelter and care for Palestinian children affected by social and economic difficulties. To date, the Al Amal orphanage houses 99 wards, 18 of which are victims of the war. Meanwhile, ANGELS has continued to provide key support and assistance to needy children from Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, Lebanon and Libya. The Italian Foreign Ministry and its various consulates abroad have helped the foundation in its various endeavors. In recognition of her significant contributions and philanthropic work for the foundation, Princess Bee was awarded the medal by His Excellency Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic, in October 9th, 2008.
