Sherwood Park Locals Bring Latest In Composite Stick Repair To Edmonton
Aerospace Technology Repairs Broken Composite Sticks to Like-New Condition
By: Maricel Piercey
Since the arrival of composite repair services, stick owners have resigned themselves (when sending their broken sticks in for repair), to dealing with substantial loss of flexibility in their sticks - typically affecting several inches on either side of the break, along with a considerable increase in weight. The Integral Hockey repair process involves taking these broken sticks and repairing them with a hollow carbon fibre repair, applying true composite aerospace technology. The end result is no noticeable change in respect to weight, flex, kick-point and balance, the biggest complaint in repair systems to date.
Integral Hockey’s goal is to provide everyone involved within the dynamic hockey community (teams, players and parents at both local and international levels) not only a trusted source in affordable composite stick repair but, in addition, superior quality and workmanship utilizing composite aerospace technology. This is particularly relevant for families attempting to put their kids through on a tight budget. Due to hockey-related expenses spiraling out of control, (i.e., stick replacement)
Integral Hockey Inc. and their associate franchises, are currently working with Junior A, Junior B, Triple A Midget and Bantam teams, up to and including, the Major Junior league levels, along with many recreational players. In addition, sticks have been tested at the NHL level, with a full endorsement from Jason Jaffray (Winnipeg Jets Organization)
Integral Hockey is also doing their part in promoting a ‘Green’ agenda. They’ve implemented a system taking broken sticks that are beyond repair, sending them to be ground into carbon fiber powder, which is then reused to manufacture other products, thereby reducing the carbon footprint from these composite sticks that typically end up in a land-fill. Integral Hockey considers themselves to be ‘the ultimate Canadian recycling business.’
About Integral Hockey - Edmonton
Thompson and Zwack, long-time residents of Sherwood Park, AB, have a vested interest in bringing the Integral Hockey composite repair service to their area. With both men’s sons having been involved with the sport throughout the years, they felt the system was a great solution for parents, having kids who play hockey but can’t afford to pay the high price composite sticks typically sell for. The top quality repair is also evident, with Thompson’s son (playing Junior B for the Sherwood Park Knights, and top scorer for his team), having used only repaired sticks during the 2011/12 season. Thompson and Zwack feel this is an excellent opportunity in giving back to their community, as well as doing their part in helping to save the environment. The men see it as a win-win situation, and are excited in moving forward in their partnership with Integral Hockey, being able to offer this community-oriented service for those involved with hockey, in any capacity.
