-- Raleigh resident and outstanding volunteer Joyce Rothchild was recently honored with Soroptimist International of Raleigh, NC’s President’s Award for her outstanding leadership and service to women over the past year. Rothchild’s accomplishments include chairing the 2011 Stop Child Trafficking Now Walk, an annual event to raise awareness and funds for efforts to fight trafficking;
heading “Officer Bear,” a project collecting stuffed animals for presentation to various law enforcement groups so they can give them to children found in harm’s way; serving as an “Image Coach” at the Raleigh Boutique of Soroptimist partner Dress for Success Triangle; and chairing other fundraisers, including the silent auction at Soroptimist’
s annual Triangle Women of Distinction Awards Celebration.
Soroptimist Raleigh President Terri Craig states “Joyce has been an unabashed spokesperson for the Raleigh Club and for Soroptimist. She truly demonstrates the ideals of Soroptimist – the sincerity of friendship and the joy of achievement.”
Rothchild was presented with a citation and a handcrafted porcelain pendant with the Soroptimist emblem. Rothchild states “It’s truly a joy to be a part of this wonderful group of women.
