Impulse Launches High Performance Intel Atom D2550 1.86GHz Cedar Trail Fanless Embedded PC

March 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Impulse Corporation Ltd, a leading UK embedded computing system integrator and Microsoft Windows Embedded Silver Partner, is pleased to introduce the AEC-6613, a compact fanless embedded PC featuring the latest Intel Atom D2550 processor and Intel NM10 chipset. The Intel Atom D2550 and Intel NM10 chipset form the latest Intel Cedar Trail platform, boasting high performance computing whilst maintaining lower power consumption.

The Intel Atom D2550 is clocked at an impressive 1.86GHz, making it the highest performance Intel Atom processor yet. This small scale 32nm chip features both CPU and GPU on a single die, allowing the processor to output a higher performance whilst reducing its overall TDP. The on-die GPU has a base frequency of 640MHz and includes full support for DirectX 10.1 and HD decoding (MPEG-2, VC1, AVC and H.264).

The AEC-6613 includes a rich selection of I/O and expansion options including two USB2.0 ports, three RS-232 ports, one RS-232/422/485 port, a CompactFlash slot and MiniCard slot. Networking capabilities include a dual 10/100/1000Mbit Gigabit Ethernet interface and optional WiFi (via MiniCard expansion slot).

The AEC-6613 is part of the Boxer PC series specialising in small form factor, fanless embedded PC systems. To maintain a fanless operation the AEC-6613 features a rugged aluminium chassis designed to passively disperse heat generated by the processor and chipset. For added flexibility the AEC-6613 is available in two versions, the AEC-6613-A1 and the AEC-6613-A1M. The AEC-6613-A1 can accept a standard 12V DC power feed via lockable DC jack and the AEC-6613-A1M can accept a wide 9 to 30V DC power feed via 3-pin terminal block.
