March 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Harthill Stud has had a very exciting start to 2012 with the arrival of new Sandro Hit dressage stallion Sternkonig from Finland; and the final stages of development at Egerton Hall Farm taking place.   Sternkonig was bred by Paul Schokermohle in Germany and has since competed to Prix St Georges level.  He has sired over 200 foals who have all been stamped with his excellent movement, athleticism, conformation and temperament.

The Harthill Stud (http://www.harthillstud.com) state of the art facilities now available at Egerton include:  on-site semen collection area, fully equipped laboratory, examination area with stocks, foaling boxes equipped with CCTV, foaling alarm system as well as nursery paddocks and winter yarding for youngstock.   Harthill have also recently employed Sabrina Barnwell as the resident on-site vet, her wealth of experience is invaluable to the business.  She joins Vanessa Wright, Stud Manager, who has over 20 years experience in the stud business.  Sabrina has grown up working alongside her Father, a renowned stud vet in Ireland, and will be working alongside legendary stud vet John Newcombe.

The team have been busy attending stallions shows around the country which have been a great opportunity to discuss facilities with future customers, understand the marketplace as well as showcase the stallions.  The impressive catalogue of stallions at stud for 2012 include:  Full thoroughbreds: Power Blade and Stormhill Miller, Event sire:  Honour Cruise, Showjumpers:  Lord Luis and Locarno 62 and proven event and showjumping sire:  Ramiro B.

The Harthill Stud Open Day on Monday 9th April will allow prospective customers to see the stallions and facilities for themselves as well as have the opportunity to chat to the Harthill team including Oliver Townend and Nina Barbour who established the business in 2009.  The stud will be open for the day and at 2pm the stallions will be paraded in the 60 x30m outdoor floodlit arena and Oliver will ride Honour Cruise and also a selection of the youngstock that he is producing for the 2012 season.

Within the Bolesworth Estate, Nina Barbour also organises the Bolesworth Classic Showjumping (http://www.bolesworthclassic.co.uk) and runs Townend Online (http://www.townendonline.co.uk) equestrian store.
