March 3, 2012 - PRLog -- The acclaimed duo “2” (Peter H. Bloom, flute, and Mary Jane Rupert, piano) will perform Elizabeth Vercoe’s Kleemation, together with music by Schubert, Beethoven, Copland, and NZ composers John Rimmer and Gareth Farr in a March 2012 concert tour of New Zealand and Australia.  "2" will appear at New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, University of Canterbury in Christchurch (NZ), Nelson School of Music (NZ), Frank's Cafe in Greymouth, NZ; Thursdays @ Seven Concert Series in Howick (Auckland, NZ), University of Canberra College of Music (Australia), St John's Hall in Robertson NSW (Australia), and other venues.  “2” performed the Asian premiere of Kleemation in Bangkok during their 2009 tour of Thailand, with Vercoe in attendance.  The duo’s recording of Kleemation will be featured on a forthcoming PARMA CD of Vercoe’s compositions due for release later in 2012.

In a collaboration spanning 20 years, flutist Peter H. Bloom and pianist/harpist Mary Jane Rupert (the Duo “2”) have performed in venues across the globe, winning praise for “beautiful phrasing, consummate duet passages, and superb technical facility” (St. Andrews Performing Arts).  Acclaimed for creative programming and interpretive flair, they perform newly composed works, music of the late 20th/early 21st centuries, and masterworks of the literature. Recent tours include concerts and master classes in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Salaya, Thailand.  The duo’s 2011-2012 season features performances in New Zealand, Australia, and the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.  “2” is based in Boston, Massachusetts (USA) and is managed by Americas Musicworks.  www.americasmusicworks.com
