Follow on Google News | "Twilight of the Drifter" grabs #1 spot in print - Tom Malafarina rules eBooks - but sales are soft!Sunbury Press has released the bestseller list for the month of February, 2012. Novelist Shelly Frome's "Twilight of the Drifter" was first in print. Thomas Malafarina's horror novel "99 Souls" claimed the lead of the hot eBook format.
By: Tammi Knorr Carol Schultz Vento's "The Hidden Legacy of World War II" about her famous father's post-war struggles and family life and Charles K Godfrey's Gettysburg Civil War re-enactment fantasy sold well in print thanks to author events. Joyce Anne Nicholls' "The Last Egyptian Mamluk" debuted at #5 due to brisk bookstore sales upon release. Milo Thornberry's "Fireproof Moth", Guy Graybill's moonshine books "Prohibition's Prince" and "Prince and the Paupers, " Bob Ford's "Beagle Tales 2," and Farrell and Farley's "Keystone Tombstones Volume 1" rounded out the top 10 in print. Vento's "The Hidden Legacy of World War II," Frome's "Twilight of the Drifter," and Thornberry's "Fireproof Moth" also garnered top spots in eBooks. Paul Argentini's "The Fourth Nail" and Jackson Holiday's "Who Sh*t in my Zen Garden" continued in the top ten eBooks. Keith Rommel's horror classic "The Cursed Man," being considered as a movie, returned to the list along with Bob Wood's "Sage" and L D Knorr's "The Leviticus Mission." Sunbury Press has experienced softer sales at the outset of 2012 as consumers trade print for eBooks and seem to be buying a bit less overall. Year to Date, sales were down 28%, but eBook sales are up nearly 5x. Possibly, there is a glut of downloads on eReaders following the Christmas boom. March is also traditionally a slow month for book sales, so a down first quarter is expected.
