Free Hearing Tests Back By Popular Demand

Following a phenomenal response from Solent shipyard workers, Attwood Solicitors are returning to Southampton for a third time, on 27th March, to offer free hearing tests.

March 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Attwood Solicitors have provided free hearing tests to many shipyard workers, living in and around Southampton, who are concerned about their hearing being damaged, as long ago as 1963, due to excessive levels of noise while working in the docks.

Concerned people have travelled from all over the Solent region, to attend a hearing day, where they have received a free hearing test from an audiologist and spoken to Attwood Solicitors’ legal experts, over a cup of tea, to discuss whether or not they may then have the opportunity to pursue a claim for compensation.

Principal Solicitor Ashley Attwood said: “Often people suffer in silence and don't believe they have a right to compensation for the pain and inconvenience caused to them.

We are not simply seeking compensation; we are working to give clients the help they deserve and need to put their lives back on track.”

Attwood Solicitors have identified that potentially many other heavy industries, within the Solent area, employed workers who may have been exposed to excessive levels of noise at work and may be entitled to compensation. For this reason, the hearing days have been extended to anyone in the Solent area, not just shipyard workers.

The next hearing day takes place on Tuesday 27th March at St Mary’s Football Stadium. To guarantee an appointment, please call 0800 326 5203 or text ‘CLAIMS’ to 88010. If anyone is unable to attend, Attwood Solicitors also offer advice over the phone and can provide an alternative date for a free hearing test.

Attwood Solicitors currently represent many shipyard workers in both Southampton and Barrow-in-Furness, whose hearing was allegedly damaged at work.

Around 100 workers in a diverse range of industries, from truck manufacturing to quarrying, have so far received pay-outs ranging from £1,000 to £12,000.

Having a free hearing test does not mean any deductions will be made from compensation, as legal fees are paid by the employers’ insurance, over and above compensation to the employee.

To find out more, please call Attwood Solicitors on 0800 587 3231 or text ‘CLAIMS’ to 88010.
