Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Green Seal Environmental, Inc. (GSE), a Sagamore Beach-headquartered, full service engineering, sciences, construction and facilities support firm, submitted a response to a US Army Corps of Engineers’ Solicitation for a $24M five-year, contract for “Operation and Maintenance and Long Term Monitoring at Massachusetts Military Reservation.” The work entails operating the groundwater treatment plants on the base to remove existing contamination, as well as tracking the progress of the clean-up by taking samples from monitoring wells throughout the base.

Bourne resident, Christie Lee Wirsen, GSE’s Chief Executive Officer said, “To the best of our knowledge, we are the only Cape Cod-headquartered Small Business Administration 8(a) program candidate to submit a response to this solicitation.”

“Our proposal utilized not only our experience at MMR but also that of our Department of Defense (“DoD”) Mentor-Protégé Program partner, Tech Tech EC, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, Inc.,” Wirsen added.

Wirsen continued, “While our technical proposal demonstrated our experience in working at MMR, our price proposal revealed our ability to provide good service at a good price.”

“Winning this contract would mean that Cape Cod business is done by a Cape Cod business, which means jobs for Cape Cod residents.” Wirsen concluded, “At a time when job creation is badly needed, it would be wonderful to add local “green jobs” for our area residents, working on this important project to clean-up MMR.”

The firm anticipates the winning proposal to be announced in six to eight weeks.
