JVS Chicago Announces New Training Program Location

Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- - JVS Chicago’s Home Health Aide Training Program, has a new home at Westside Holistic Family Services, 4909 W. Division, Chicago.  The eight-week training course is designed to develop job skills and knowledge necessary to assist students in obtaining entry level health care occupations such as home health aides and companions.  

JVS Chicago’s program includes seven weeks of classroom instruction including CPR and first aid certification and a one week internship at a health care facility.  In addition, JVS professionals hold a job fair for every graduating class and find work for graduates in private care, at local nursing homes as well as help them become companions for the elderly.  Over the years, the program has served over 3000 trainees and has had an 85% job placement and retention rate.  

“In these tough times, this training is a valuable opportunity and stepping stone for those who wouldn’t ordinarily have a chance to work in the health care field,” Tobey Andre, JVS program supervisor.  “JVS is an outstanding Home Health Aide Training Program,” said Krystal, a recent graduate of the program. “The instructors are very dedicated to their work and I gained so much knowledge not only in Home Health Care but also in how to become gainfully employed.”
