Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- New York Times Best Selling Author Emily March is sponsoring her own version of March Madness: a month long promotion lasting March 1-31, featuring a daily book giveaway from March and other participating authors and culminating in a grand prize drawing of a prize package of books and a $500 donation to the animal rescue organization of their choosing – this is in addition to the $500 donation she will make to Legacy Boxer Rescue in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
“Rescue dogs are central to the stories in most of my books,” March said. “I write about the healing power of love, and love and dogs just go together.”
March has partnered with other best selling romance authors who will contribute to the promotion with additional prize donations. Christina Dodd, Karen Hawkins, Kristan Higgins, Jayne Ann Krentz, Susan Mallery, Teresa Medeiros, and Lori Wilde are among those joining in the cause. The inspiration for the promotion was in honor of her own work with Legacy Boxer Rescue and her commitment to animal rescue causes and care.
“My husband and I foster for our local rescue group and it is so rewarding. I hope this promotion will raise awareness of the need for more foster families and encourage others to consider volunteering for an organization in their area as well as provide a fun contest for our readers.”
Emily March (aka Geralyn Dawson) is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the heartwarming, critically acclaimed Eternity Springs romantic women's fiction series published by Ballantine Books.
The first book in the series, ANGEL'S REST, was named a Top 100 Book of 2011 by Publishers Weekly.  It, along with the second and third books of the series, HUMMINGBIRD LAKE and HEARTACHE FALLS, each earned coveted starred reviews from Publishers Weekly.
A graduate of Texas A&M University, Emily lives in the Dallas/Ft Worth area with her family and her rescue boxers, Soupy and Doc.
