Follow on Google News | Twitter vs Facebook, Apple picked Twitter why are you not?Twitter vs Facebook, Apple picked Twitter why are you not? By Johnathan Smith
By: Johnathan Smith Is this the year of the "tweets".. I say yes. we all should look into using twitter.... Look at Apple! why did Apple pick twitter: control, privacy, platform, and competition are just some of the reasons both iOS and OS X integrate Twitter but not Facebook. Think about it... Is Apple Smarter then you? Before you think about using Facebook anymore you should read the following two web sites: http://www.imore.com/ After reading the two you should have the same feeling as I do.. its time to kick Facebook good bye and say hello to Twitter again! What is Twitter: Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets". It was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched that July. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 300 million users as of 2011, generating over 300 million tweets and handling over 1.6 billion search queries per day. It has been described as "the SMS of the Internet." Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco, with additional servers and offices in New York City. What is Facebook: Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook Inc.. As of February 2012, Facebook has more than 845 million active users. Users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends". The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the site.
