Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- What is mosaic art? Basically it’s the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces (tesserae) of colored glass, stone, or other materials. Thousands of years ago (circa eighth century BC) people used pebbles and little bits of stone and shell to form pictures of everyday life.

The Greeks were noted for the introduction of tesserae. The first tesserae were tiny pieces of marble cut into squares and used to add detail to the mosaic. They used these tiny marble squares to mosaic architectural components of buildings. Today, these ancient mosaics are the inspiration for Diamond Tech’s Antiquity Mosaics Marble Tile Kits.

Antiquity Mosaic Kits are the most complete kits on the market. Each contain a sustainable solid wood surface, real marble tile, adhesive, grout, full-size nipper and much more! There will be no returning to the store to buy additional supplies with this kit.

Use the natural marble stone inside each kit to create either a handy catchall or a mosaic desk/wall clock.  Each kit includes three unique pattern designs based on Greek and Roman Mosaic patterns. Each range in skill level from the novice to the experienced, so you choose the pattern that is right for you.

Unique to this kit is a special video tutorial, available only to those who purchase the kit. This online video demonstrates how to transfer the pattern, cut the marble using the hand nipper and mosaic a final project.

Marble tiles, with their wonderfully unpredictable nature have been around for centuries. Antiquity Mosaics captures their charm in two stunning home décor items anyone would be proud to make and display.  Find out more by visiting us at
