Grantham University Announces Webinar Series Developed for Veterans and Employers

Feb. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Kansas City, Mo. – Grantham University, a 61-year-old institution delivering accredited online degree programs to working adult students around the world, is pleased to announce a series of complimentary Webinars hosted by Career Services. Two distinct series have been customized for transitioning or veteran service members and employers, with a wide variety of topics pertaining to the unique challenges of today’s job market.

“A common setback faced by transitioning service members is how to translate military experiences into corporate language – and how to best highlight their wide variety of skill sets for a specific position,” said Shanna Fowler, career services manager. “Additionally, employers have shared that they’re interested in learning about recruiting best practices and challenges, and understanding how to review military experience for a civilian job description. Based on the feedback from students, graduates and our employer partners – and in consideration of today’s particularly competitive job market – we’re really pleased to be able to offer this service.”

Employers who are interested in hiring veterans and transitioning service members are invited to participate in a bi-weekly Webinar beginning Thursday, March 8th at 1:00 p.m. CST. This series is focused on creating, developing, and maintaining veteran recruitment and retention strategies.
