UK’s First ‘Micro-Affiliate’ Marketing Concept Launched
An innovative and unique ‘micro-affiliate’ concept has been launched by a UK-based digital marketing company.
Product recommendation as a marketing tool for brands has moved to a new level, with the launch of an innovative concept in the UK that helps brands utilise their customers as ‘micro-affiliates’
Digital Animal, a performance-
Fandistribution enables consumers to recommend products or services to their friends or peers via social media platforms; meaning they become 'micro-affiliates’
The 'micro-affiliate' marketing concept offered by Digital Animal designs packages to suit a brand's specific needs, and can be used to target consumers on a range of different social media platforms ranging from Facebook to LinkedIn, and 322 other mediums.
The service aims to help brands engage effectively with their target audience through positive brand exposure, whilst at the same time rewarding consumers for positive recommendations. The service also allows brands to gauge demand for products on social media platforms and track conversion rates from micro-affiliate recommendations.
Since launching, Digital Animal has successfully worked with a number of national brands, including TalkTalk and Park Resorts.
Sanjit Atwal , Managing Director of Digital Animal Agency, commented on the launch of the 'micro-affiliate' service:
"There are a number of challenges facing online retailers to gain both incremental sales through their digital marketing channels and retain their customers for longer periods. What we are doing with the 'micro-affiliate' model is directly based on our own extensive experience of e-commerce and helping brands make more sales.
Multiple studies over the last few years have proven that online customers are much more likely to purchase products if their friends have recommended them, and we are thrilled to be offering the UK's first micro-affiliate package. Whilst 'social shopping' has been dabbled with over recent years, we felt that going one step further and enabling consumers to become micro-affiliates was a unique way in which to properly reward product recommendation;
"Using fandistribution, Digital Animal can help brands track, manage and encourage product demand via social media channels, and can offer this over a wide variety of different platforms as opposed to just Facebook or Twitter. We have been lucky to enough to already have partnered with over 15 top UK/EU ecommerce brands to help turn consumers into micro-affiliates, and look forward to seeing how far the micro-affiliate concept can go for our brand partners."
