“The Beat Goes On” Visual Arts Exhibit at BIG ARTS Sanibel
“The Beat Goes On,” an exhibit with music-themed artworks by Renée Rey and Peter Zell, will be on display in BIG ARTS Founders Gallery Friday, March 2, through Thursday, March 29. An artists reception will be held 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 9.
Renée Rey is an award-winning artist from Naples who specializes in creating contemporary drawings, paintings and portraits. Rey is also well-known for her unique line of avant-garde wearable sculpture, which includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings for both women and men.
Peter Zell is an award-winning artist living and painting year-round in southwest Florida. He works mostly in oils but also paints in acrylics and watercolors. Zell says, “I like the celebratory nature of music, the architecture of the instruments and the forms of the musicians themselves. This exhibit will feature oil paintings of musicians or music in different contexts.” Peter enjoys painting en plein air at different locations on Sanibel and Captiva Islands and the Fort Myers area. He is an active member of Sanibel-Captiva Art League, BIG ARTS, Alliance for the Arts and Naples Art Association, his work can also be seen at Hirdie Girdie Gallery.
