Feb. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Award winning sculptor and Automotive Fine Arts Society member Tony Sikorski will exhibit six of his latest works from March 9-11, 2012 during the 17th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Amelia Island, Fla. Impressing patrons at this year’s art show, Sikorski will showcase his talent for skillfully blending wood, glass and stainless steel into three dimensional masterpieces.

“When creating a piece, my goal is to glorify the simple beauty of design in the subject car that I have chosen,” said Sikorski.  “The shape and frame of my sculptures embrace the style and purpose the vehicle while the glossy curves and defined lines are meant to bring it to life. Every detail is essential and contributes to evoking an emotion when enjoying the piece.”

At this year’s art show, Sikorski will recall the flair and grace of cars from the “golden” era of design.  His  sculptures will depict some of the greatest cars of the ‘30s through ‘50s with works including “’50s Cadillac Eldorado Concept,” a copper model with the perfect combination of wood and stainless steel; “Black Jewel,” a stunning 22’’ long x 5’’ wide x 4’’ tall Delahaye; and “Bugatti 500,” an elegant black and silver work.

A longtime favorite of both art collectors and automotive historians, Sikorski has also captured the attention of car manufacturers.  In 2011, he earned the coveted “Emotion in Motion” award from Mazda.  The AFAS sponsor noted that his masterpiece, “‘32 Southern California Roadster,” best portrayed movement in a stationary piece of art, thereby capturing Mazda’s zoom-zoom philosophy.

Commissioned by corporations and private collectors worldwide, Sikorski’s talents have been sought since his career began in 1963, when he won a scholarship to the Ivy Art Institute of Graphic Design in Pittsburgh.  His work has earned recognition from publications such as Robb Report, Mobilia, Automobile Magazine and AutoWeek.  In 2002, Classic and Sports Car Magazine named Sikorski one of the top 20 motoring artists of the past 20 years.
