Feb. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- A wave of interest in nudge theory was raised in fall of 2011 when Dr Jennifer Lunt and Malcolm Staves detailed the concept in SHP magazine. Article 'Nudge, nudge, think, think' was followed with a story ''Mindful Leadership' … (or Nudge, Nudge, Say Some More!)' by Dr Tim Marsh.

Now the innovative triangle  Nudge Theory - Dr Lunt - Dr Marsh will be part of a two day program where the Nudge Theory will be presented for the first time at the B2B conference The 6th Annual HSE Excellence Europe by one of the theory authors Dr Lunt from HSL in a speech 'Applying nudge to behavioural safety: A way forward'. The theme will go through an explanation of the concept with its pros and cons, its relevancy to H&S and it will answer the related question 'Panacea or a new string to the bow?. Moreover Dr Lunt will be a member of the focused panel discussion 'The next steps on how to improve the health & safety performance further'.

According to Dr Lunt, the concept of Nudge Theory could be seen as a needed drive for pushing the health and safety performance to the next level. 'The idea is hugely influential with governments and it is beginning to be used explicitly by safety departments,' claims Dr Tim Marsh from Ryder Marsh Safety participating as an active speaker at the conference and panel member for discussion 'How to build a zero accident culture?' since the ultimate aim of HSE is to achieve 'goal zero': no-harm-to people and no-harm-to the environment.

Knowing the key importance of each HSE component in this process, Fleming Europe has organized their 6th Annual HSE Excellence Europe with the theme 'The future of HSE: Which road to take?' where health, safety and the environment will be equally discussed.

Over 100 participants from 3 continents will gather on 17 – 18 May 2012 in Rome to grasp the latest developments from decision makers of the companies such as E.ON, Kraft Foods, Saudi Aramco, ABB and others. HSE professionals who are interested in listening to cutting-edge presentations and networking with experts from all across the world can download the program and register at the HSE Excellence Europe website.
