USS Port Royal VBSS Navy Get New T-Shirt Design at Vision-Strike-Wear.Com

Feb. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- The VBSS Team, Visit, Board, Search and Seizure aboard the USS Port Royal are among the US Navy's elite teams when it comes to disrupting the activities of foreign combatants at sea.

They are highly trained in a variety of tactics and  these USN VBSS teams are often armed with Mk 18 or M4 carbines as well as Mossberg 500 shotguns and Beretta M9 pistols. The body armor they wear is generally made of the kevlar, law enforcement type with ballistic plate inserts and a buoyant tactical vest that doubles as a life preserver.

The USS Port Royal (CG-73) is a U.S. Navy Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser, the 27th and final in her class. The last of a fine tradition of warships. She is the second United States warship to have the name of 2 naval battles of Port Royal Sound, South Carolina, tracing its history to that of the American Revolutionary War and the American Civil War.
