By: The Food Bank for Westchester (NY) The Food Bank for Westchester is seeking nominations for the 2012 Hunger Heroes in three categories: - The Volunteer Award: A volunteer or group of volunteers who have provided outstanding service in helping to alleviate hunger in the community. - The Service Provider Award: An agency or program that has provided outstanding hunger-relief service to its community. - The Donor Award: An individual or corporation who has been generous in the fight against hunger in Westchester County. Please share their names and stories with the Food Bank for Westchester so they can receive the public accolades they so richly deserve. With the help of volunteers, funders, and food donors, the Food Bank acquires and distributes more than seven million pounds of food annually, providing 95% of all the food distributed by food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, child and adult day-care and residential centers, and other hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester.
