Feb. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Power tools and other heavy-duty tools that rely on machine power are essential in keeping workshop projects easier to do. Some tools are used to reinforce your work, while some do tasks that you can never do manually.

Panasonic Corporation is a multinational corporation that specializes in almost anything that you can use electronics and electric systems with, although they primarily deal with consumer electronics. The first things that would probably come to mind when you hear their name would be televisions and media players.

Fortunately for machinists and mechanics out there, Panasonic also deals with power tools that run using electricity. Panasonic tools, when viewed at a glance, don’t look that much different from any ordinary power tool, but it does have a few great qualities that sum it up as a competitive product line.

Lower Voltage Rating
Many power tools are expected to be able to bruise up and crunch up to work the needs more than just raw muscle power to do. Because of this, a standard voltage of 18 volts is usually set on many power tools. Anything lower might cause a bit of anxiety to any machinist or mechanic.

Cordless Panasonic tools that run on electricity however, only have a standard voltage of 14.4 volts. Looking at the 20% cut in electric potential difference, one might see cordless Panasonic tools as being unable to perform at the same intensity with ordinary 18 volt power tools. But performance is not measured by power consumption alone. It may consume less power, but it is a lot more efficient comparatively, as it is able to drill those screws and cut those metal or wood pieces at roughly the same standard intensity.

Standard Multi-functionality Level
Multi-functionality is a very important aspect in power tools’ overall efficiency. Being able to do lots of different things, or emphasize on two or more specific jobs makes any tool worth a lot more than what it is paid for. The functionality of Panasonic tools in general do not really differ that much from other power tools, although there are some nifty additions that add to the convenience and ease of use of many of its items within its product line.

For example, Panasonic tools like those lithium-ion powered cordless electric drills have built in flashlights, attached to the front of the tools. This makes it very handy and good to use in areas and spaces where one could have otherwise used another tool for lighting.

Expensive, But Usually Worth the Buck
A unique, but not so positive quality of Panasonic tools is that they are priced at a considerably high rate. The rate is not really too high though, but it is enough to form a gap between other power tools from other manufacturers and companies.

Despite this “flaw” though, Panasonic tools still manage to prove themselves worthy of the price that they are bought with. You can simply think of purchasing Panasonic tools as a long-term investment, with a comparatively large “loss” at first, but eventually reaping its benefits for a longer period of time.
