Feb. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Medianation.co.uk has been going from strength to strength since its official launch twelve months ago. Feedback shows the site has helped hundreds of students and recent graduates to find CV-enhancing work experience, internships, and employment.

The site gathers together news on the latest internship, work experience, and trainee opportunities in the UK creative industries. There’s also news on jobs, funding, competitions, and awards.

Site users can take advantage of the regularly updated searchable databases. These include the Work Placements search facility, Talentbase, the place to find creative opportunities, and the media and creative Courses search facility.

The site carries insightful articles on media careers, and media higher education. It features interviews with both new and established industry figures on how they achieved their ambitions and the advice they would give to those eager to follow in their footsteps.

MediaNation is also the exclusive home of freelance journalist, HackLash. A well-known freelance journalist working across several national titles, it is on this site that he vents his spleen.

Monday to Friday the site publishes its BIG LIST - a handy sector by sector round up of the latest UK media jobs and opportunities.

The site was created by UK media academic Dr Samantha Lay. After thirteen years of supporting media students in English universities up and down the country, Dr Lay realised that a web resource was needed urgently. The idea was to help students to help themselves.

She says, “Students need advice, leads and direction to help them kick-start their careers. As a lecturer charged with helping my students in their professional development, I was always looking for a point-and-go resource I could trust. That is why I developed Medianation.”

The site is completely free to use and there’s no registration. Visit http://www.medianation.co.uk
