Oberon Announces Custom Enclosure Design Services for Wireless & Telecommunications Enclosures
When unique deployments require custom solutions, Oberon's design services can create secure, aesthetic enclosures to meet specific customer needs.
The current Oberon catalog features several products that were the result of the custom design process. Notably among these is the Model 1052-HFHS wireless access point enclosure designed for Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. The resulting deployment was featured in an issue of BICSI News Magazine, where a feature article offered key strategies for a successful large-scale wireless deployment. The article, co-authored by Oberon President Scott D. Thompson, is available at http://oberonwireless.com/
More recently, Oberon designed custom enclosures for use in a large-scale stadium deployment at a major D1 college stadium. The process inspired a line of three NEMA-rated enclosures designed for stadium and outdoor use. More information can be found at http://oberonwireless.com/
Oberon manufactures enclosures and mounting solutions for wireless LAN access points. A wide variety of models are available for mounting equipment in both suspended and hard-lid ceilings, on walls, and in outdoor/NEMA environments. Telecommunications enclosures for networking components are also offered for both office and home environments. Enclosures provide security through locking doors, convenience of access to simplify maintenance, and a sleek, aesthetic appearance.
Oberon enclosures can simplify compliance with industry guidelines and procedures such as ICRA in healthcare, PCI in retail, and FIPS in federal government. The locking doors, ability to reach access points from below the back box, and secure installation attached to the building structure provide the security required in a variety of network environments. Additionally, article 300.22 of the National Electric Code (N.E.C.) specifies that unlisted equipment installed in the air handling space above a suspended ceiling shall be secured in a metal enclosure, accessible via an opening panel or door.
