The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey awarded its “Heart of Financial Planning Award” to Omega Hartman CFP®, of Omega Financial Management in Cranford, and Reed Fraasa CFP®, AIF®, RLP®, of Highland Financial Advisors In Riverdale.
Feb. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey  (FPANJ) has awarded its “Heart of Financial Planning Award” to Omega Hartman CFP®, owner of Omega Financial Management in Cranford, and Reed Fraasa CFP®, AIF®, RLP®, president of Highland Financial Advisors LLC in Riverdale.

The annual award is given to the nominees who best display a commitment to the Four Core Values of the Financial Planning Association (FPA):  Competence, Integrity, Relationships, and Stewardship, and whose extraordinary contributions advanced the financial planning profession and/or promoted financial literacy.

In nominating Omega Hartman for the award, Ray Streker CFP®, co-director of Pro Bono and Financial Literacy for FPANJ noted that the success of the chapter’s public outreach efforts, such as their work with United Way, the NJ National Guard, and the Newark/Elizabeth Financial Planning Days can all be traced back to Omega’s hard work and initiative.

William Stratton, financial consultant at Nova Financial Consulting in Manasquan, cited Reed Fraasa’s critical role in championing FPANJ’s early efforts to promote financial literacy in the state, which ultimately led to the  passage of legislation establishing a two-year financial education pilot program in NJ high schools.

The awards were presented in a ceremony held at the Woodbridge Hilton on February 21st.

Both honorees will automatically be nominated for the 2012 FPA National Heart of Financial Planning Award presented at the FPA National Conference in San Antonio in September 2012.
