Townsend says he sees women increasingly concerned about the potential risks of cancer from harsh chemicals in coloring products.

“Women, particularly those in their 40s and 50s, are very concerned about the risk of cancer from coloring their hair, and they're asking us for a natural product,” he said. “Some are even going back to henna, which does not provide good coverage for gray hair.
