GHS Regional Health Screening Scheduled for March 2 in Andrews

Georgetown Hospital System’s Community Health Education Department will host a Regional Health Screening event on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Andrews.
 
Feb. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Georgetown, SC—Georgetown Hospital System’s Community Health Education Department will host a Regional Health Screening event on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Andrews.

Local residents will have the opportunity to take advantage of reduced cost health screenings and a multitude of important health tests as well as health education resources. Screenings to be offered include hs-CRP (Cardiac Risk assessment) - $25, Chemistry Panel - $20; CBC w/differential - $20, TSH (thyroid Screen) - $15, Hgb A1C for Diabetics. - $15, PSA for men - $15.  Chemistry Panel tests require a 10-12 hour fast.  Free tests will be available such as blood pressure screenings, bone density, vision screenings and many others. BMI evaluations, nutrition guidance, stroke education, cancer services information, pharmacy consultations, total joint replacement education, information about prostate and mammogram clinics and more resources will also be available.
 
Registration packets for the event will be available at the information lobby areas of Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital.  Persons who plan to participate in any of the screenings are encouraged to obtain one of the packets in advance, complete it and bring it to the event to expedite the process.  Packets will be available on site the day of the event.
