GOES RED FOR WOMEN WITH 3RD ANNUAL WOMEN’S “SHARE YOUR HEART” WELLNESS EVENT

What:   For their third consecutive year, The Woodhouse Day Spa is committed to raising awareness of Heart Disease especially in Women by partnering with the American Heart Association as part of the Go Red Campaign. The community is cordially invited to come and bring a friend for a day of health, relaxation, and awareness. Medical professionals will be on hand from Detroit Medical Center (DMC) where guests can receive complimentary Blood Pressure, Glucose/Diabetes Screenings and Cholesterol screenings. Persons without insurance are encouraged to attend. Reservations are preferred  by calling (313) 965-6270, but walk-ins will be accepted.

Why:         Heart disease is not just for men but affecting women in leaps and bounds. Cardiovascular disease kills approximately 450,000 women each year, about one every minute. Heart disease ranks very high in the African American and Hispanic communities due to obesity, lack of physical activities, high blood pressure and diabetes.  For those who are unemployed and uninsured can cause depression and stress which can lead to Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Well, Woodhouse Day Spa who support many women causes related to educating women on preventive health maintenance if offering an opportunity for you to bring a friend to receive FREE health screenings in a spa atmosphere.
