Feb. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Tommy Golden a local filmmaker will be setting out to film an on screen film adaptation of the Stephen King's short story "The Boogeyman". After getting funding Golden has set out to film in Shelbyville, Tennessee late February.

Being a local film maker is not easy and not cheap, but in the long run it is well worth it said Golden. He explains that getting the rights to film the on screen adaptation began in late September and was completed in mid December. After acquiring the rights to the story Golden moved to the next step of the process which was getting the perfect location.

With films being shot in States such as Georgia, Louisiana, and California due to the great film incentives it's a risk to film in Tennessee. Golden was dead set on filming in Tennessee because he wants every taxable penny spent on the production to go back into the state where he lives. Golden says that if this production can help create one part-time job he has done what he set out to do.

The story of the Boogeyman comes from Stephen King's Short Story collection titled: The Nightshift. In Golden's "The Boogeyman" the viewers will follow the main character Lester Billings as he visits a psychologist in his office. Lester meets his therapist named Doctor Harper in which Lester talks about his children's death and the suspicious circumstances of how they died.

In this film there are twists and turns just like the book, however Golden says that he has put his very own touch and flair to the story. When asked where he sees himself in 5 years Golden responded "Making more horror genre films that will entertain the world for years to come".
