Newcomer in BELL Family • American formula pilot Pete Olson will drive with a BELL

Feb. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Pete Olson has joined the BELL family.

The California native will compete in the China Formula Grand Prix [CFGP] in 2012 while equipped with BELL racing gear, with the ambitious goal of becoming the first American driver to win a professional racing series in China.

“I’m honored to join the BELL family and represent the company, especially as its a high-quality Made in USA racing equipment line” said Olson. “BELL outfits champions like Indy driver Marco Andretti and F1’s Jarno Trulli - and its just added confidence to be driving while equipped with the top race gear in the world.”

Just last weekend the American driver completed his first winter 2012 pre-season CFGP F2000 testing at Guangdong International Circuit, one of China’s newest tracks, consistently setting the fastest times of the day.

“I was very happy with the test and performance level of the car” said Olson. “But there’s definitely more to be had with the right setup changes, and we’ll be working on that in upcoming testing.”

Pete Olson has had a successful climb up the motorsports ladder from karting, motorcycle road racing, and later formula cars, where he most notably won the 2007 and 2008 Bridgestone F2000 racing series in Canada, since then competing in Formula Renault Asia and acting as the test driver and instructor for Champ Motorsport, one of the leading Formula Renault teams in China. Olson is based at the famous Zhuhai International Circuit in Zhuhai, China.
