Aid Training To Sponsor Trainer In London Marathon

Feb. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Aid Training & Operations Ltd are proud to sponsor one of their Trainers John Griffiths who is running this year’s Virgin London Marathon.

John’s efforts are particularly poignant as he is choosing to fund raise for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. When John is not working as a full time Fire Fighter he shares his knowledge and skills by delivering First Aid Training courses for Aid – so he knows firsthand how important this life saving service is:

“In my role as a Firefighter we have had cause to call upon these fine people on many occasion, and every time they have been swift to get those in need away from the scene and to hospital care.

Even more so a couple of years ago I was first on scene to a road collision that was very severe.  I was off duty, so no support from a crew or equipment that I'm normally used to and given the remote location a call was put in to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance service for their assistance.  It wasn't long before they were on scene and getting the casualties off to the nearest hospital.  True heroes in many a mind.
What is shocking, is that this great service we often rely on is not funded from Government or through the national lottery funding, it relies solely in the support and generosity of the public which is why I want to raise as much money as I can to help maintain this service.

Ideally I would like to raise £3800 which is the cost of supporting the service and helicopter for one day".
