New Indian online shopping site Jungle.com launched by Amazon
Amazon the online retailer has entered an Indian market with the launch of its shopping website called jungle.com. This website offers 12 million products across 25 categories- like books, movies, mobile phone, cameras, toys and clothing.
Purchases of a product have been made through a network of third party supplier, but customer has choice to compare prices given by this website.
Amazon has entered the Indian market when Indians are shopping online ever before through popular outlets bookstore giant Flipkart and travel portal Make My Trip that are already in Indian market.
Amazon said that they are seating up its first warehouse in India, which is in process. That would make shipment faster and cheaper.
E-commerce business in India set for a boom of more than 1.2 billion people, but use of Internet and online shopping is still low. There are 60 million Internet user in India but 10 million people shop online.
India’s government allowed foreign “single-brand”
India’s retail sector is valued at $ 550 billion as of December last year, according to Indian Brand Equity Foundation, which was setup by Indian government.
