Volunteer Information and Recruitment Fair at the Thompson Center in Downtown Chicago

Feb. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- As part of National AmeriCorps Week, March 10-18, Literacy Volunteers of Illinois (LVI) – VOCAL AmeriCorps program will promote awareness of AmeriCorps programs and volunteerism by hosting the 5th Annual National AmeriCorps Week - Volunteer Information & Recruitment Fair on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 
The fair will be held at the James R. Thompson Center at 100 W. Randolph Street. Members of AmeriCorps programs throughout Chicago will be on hand to talk to people about volunteering and provide information on ways to become involved with a wide variety of agencies that do critically important work in areas from adult literacy to public health.

“Our goal is to reach out to individuals who have never heard about AmeriCorps, as well as to get Illinois citizens actively volunteering in their communities,” states Dorothy Miaso, Executive Director of LVI.
