Feb. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Al’s career started in 1977 as an apprentice at the age of 17 in the Terrazzo & Natural Stone in Boston, Ma. After a few years in the industry, in 1981 he became a journeyman in the preservation and restoration in Terrazzo & Natural Stone Floor.

In 2004, Al started his own business as We Do Floors, Llc. He is considered by his peers and through-out the stone industry as a skilled artisan and a master craftsman in the preservation and restoration in Terrazzo & Natural Stone Floor. Al has traveled and trained other tradesman throughout the United States with their project.

Al is a member of several stone organizations including: “Stone Fabrication Network”  “Natural Stone Restoration Alliance” and a co-founder of the “Stone Repair Network”.


Al is considered an expert in the following area with definitions for the novices:

Grinding :    Trained to remove deep scratches, stains,  crystallizers, polyurethanes. This process is done mechanically with diamond abrasive pads and water that create very little to no dust.

De-Lippaging or Flattening:   This process is usually recommended when the stone was installed incorrectly. Lippage is a term given to uneven tiles that are set higher then one another.

Honing:  Trained to remove minor lippage, scratches & wear from everyday foot traffic. This process is also done mechanically with diamond abrasives pads with water.

Polishing:  Trained to give Terrazzo or Natural Stone the formal look you want, enhancing veining in the Marble or aggregates Marble chips in Terrazzo floors.

Sealing:  Trained To protect and preserve your investment.

Color Enhancing:  Trained to enhance or enrich the beauty of your stone.

Repairing:  Trained to repair Terrazzo, Travertine, Marble, Granite surfaces that have been cracked, chipped or scratched.
