Cancer Support Community MA South Shore Receives Accreditation from the National Cancer Support Co

Feb. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The Cancer Support Community of Massachusetts South Shore (CSC-MSS), a non-profit organization offering support services to cancer patients, has received accreditation by the National Cancer Support Community headquarters in Washington DC as a full status affiliate.

CSC-MSS is the only affiliate in the state of Massachusetts and in all of New England and as a licensed CSC will follow protocols, standards and all regulations by the National Association. This will make the organization eligible for grants for specific national programs and access to information and publications.

“We are very pleased to have this distinction and know that all of our participants in our programs are receiving the very best education and support,” said Francine Coluci, Executive Director of The Cancer Support Community of MA South Shore. “Our programs complement conventional medical care. The combination of good medical care and ongoing emotional support provides the best opportunity for people with cancer, as well as their families and caregivers, to feel empowered and thus become active participants in their own care and well-being.”
