Solar electric interior lights help brighten night drop off kennels at the shelter

Marina, CA, February 13, 2012 - Scudder Solar Energy Systems has donated a solar power interior lighting system and labor to the Salinas Animal Shelter for their night time drop off kennels.   The light system is battery operated and set on a motion sensor and will allow the shelter to light the drop off kennels at no cost. The solar lights will also help educate visitors about the benefits of solar energy. This donation is part of an ongoing commitment to the community by Scudder to donate a portion of their revenue to deserving recipients in the local area.

The Salinas animal shelter was incorporated in 2001 and is responsible for taking in and caring for thousands of unwanted, stray or injured animals from the cities of Salinas and Marina. A division of the City of Salinas Police Department, the Salinas Animal Shelter also offers a wonderful adoption program as well as a low-cost spay/neuter services for county residents. The night drop off kennels at the shelter are intended for people to use that find stray animals after hours.
