The Hutchins Consort's String Salute to French-Speaking Culture

Violin Octet and Featured Harpist, Elena Mashkovtseva, Celebrate France with World Premiere and French Flavored Favorites
By: W.C. Watkins

Feb. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- With "Vive La France", this unique violin octet celebrates French speaking culture around the globe. The Hutchins Consort performs plays on eight scaled violins from the tiny treble violin, tuned one octave above the standard violin, to the large bass violin, tuned one octave lower than a cello. This broad palette of instruments helps the ensemble produce an astonishing range. This program will feather the world premiere of Bataillie's "Trout Swimming Upstream", Boieldieu "Harp Concerto," featuring acclaimed principal harp for Orchestra Nova, Elena Mashkovtseva, Ravel's "Tzigane"  and"Pavane for a Dead Princess" and an array of Haitian and Tahitian songs that will transport you to the islands.

The performance will be on Sunday, March 04 at 3:00 PM at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 2200 San Joaquin Hill Rd, Newport Beach, CA.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and student and can be purchased at the door or online at www.hutchinsconsort.org. A select number of low price tickets may be purchased at www.Goldstar.com (subscription to Goldstar is required).
