Valley’s Leading Interior Design Firm Announces Big Changes For 2012

Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Scottsdale, AZ - (February 13, 2012) –   After two decades of steady business growth, Anita Lang, Founder and Principal Designer is taking her award winning interior design studio to new heights.   As part of strategic expansion in 2012, Lang is announcing three major changes in her business:

•   New office location in Scottsdale
•   Expansion in Northern California
•   Updated brand image

Lang founded Interior Motives, Inc. in Fountain Hills in 1992 and worked diligently to establish a reputation among high-end interior designers.  Her work won multiple awards and national recognition and her ongoing commitment to the community through her Inspire Design Foundation has earned her recognition throughout the state.  

“Relocating to a new office in Scottsdale was a great time to update the entire brand image to ensure consistency as we continue to grow and expand,” added Lang.

The IMI Design team is nestling into their new 3,100 sq. ft. space in the Scottsdale Airpark Area.   Black and white zebra wood, white alligator embossed leather and brushed stainless steel are just a few of the materials present in the entry of the office, which immediately introduce clients and other guests to the use of diverse textiles and innovative contrasts that characterize IMI Design.

Continuing the stunning contrasts, the walk down the hallway is graced with robin blue walls offset by exposed black, metal ceiling beams overhead.  Drawing visitors down the hallway are two large, playful daffodil light fixtures, which provide light for the saw bench-style work tables underneath them.
“We want every element of our new office to give clients not only a taste of our design aesthetic, but also who we are as people,” Lang says of the new workplace.  “One of the key ingredients of a successful design project is developing a personal, trusting relationship with the client.  Having an office as warm, open and inviting as this one helps us to develop that rapport with them.”

In 2010, Lang, a certified interior designer, took steps to license her business in the state of California. Lang then rebranded to IMI Design and decided the new brand image would fit the firm better in Arizona as well.  

“After more than 20 years working in the Valley, the decision to expand our services into California offered a great opportunity to refresh our studio’s brand image overall,” said Anita.  As the firm has grown over the last two decades, the team has expanded their expertise and disciplines in their industry to include: comprehensive preconstruction planning, architectural detailing and full service soft furnishing design planning.

Currently, the firm has five high-end projects underway in the Tahoe area and IMI Design Studio’s California office is based in Truckee.

When asked, “why the name IMI Design?” Lang responded, “The reason is twofold.   It was a simple acronym from the founding company Interior Motives, Inc. but more importantly,” Lang says, ”the name reflects the powerful impact of interior design.  Without uttering a word, a space can say ‘I am bold’, or, ‘I am a free spirit,’ or ‘I am friendly;’ thus, IMI Design.  When there is harmony between soul and environment, a positive, uplifting energy is created.”
