Willie Jolley Receives Ronald H. Brown Distinguished Leadership Award

University of the District of Columbia presents Willie Jolley with the Distinguished Leadership Award in honor of The Honorable Ronald H. Brown at their Founders’ Day Celebration
 
Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Willie Jolley speaker, singer, author will be the keynote speaker at the University of the District of Columbia’s Annual Founders’ Day Convocation and Luncheon, Wednesday, February 15, 2012. The ceremony will be held in the University’s Theater of the Arts Auditorium, Building 46, located at 4200 Connecticut Avenue, NW, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In addition to speaking Willie Jolley will also be presented with The Distinguished Leadership Award in honor of The Honorable Ronald H. Brown. “The Distinguished Leadership Award is presented annually at the University of the District of Columbia’s Founders’ Day Convocation and is awarded to that individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in his/her profession and whose work has contributed to the betterment of one’s community and its citizens on a local, national, or international level.”

“Ron Brown was the first African-American appointed to the Cabinet post of Secretary of Commerce and the first to serve as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
