Feb. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- The first installment of this series, Sebastian and the Afterlife, debuted a year ago.   The book introduces us to Sebastian, an average seventeen-year-old boy, who has left this life, but his soul still has earthly business to attend to.  He awakens in a surreal world somewhere between mortal life and the afterlife, where the Grim Reaper rules and his loyal agents maintain the law. But not all is peaceful in this mystical realm. Axis Red and his soul pirates threaten the future of all who dwell there. Sebastian soon finds himself at Sapentia, a high school for the departed. There he makes new friends but longs for his lost love, Sarah, who is still alive in the mortal world. Some things are forbidden; some lines cannot be crossed. What will Sebastian risk to be close to Sarah again?

Sebastian and the Afterlife II -Agents of the Reaper continues the tale with new adventures for Sebastian and his friends.  Sebastian is moving up in the spirit realm and this new responsibility will put him in perilous situations that will test his courage as well as his character.

Although the series was written for a middle-grades to teenage audience, adults will also find this series relevant and exciting, much like other recent young adult successes.  The Sebastian and the Afterlife series is an amazing first effort from William j. Barry.  His unique writing style and creative prose will keep the reader on the edge of his seat from start to finish.

William j. Barry was born in Newton, New Jersey.  He moved to Florida and then to Georgia at a young age.  Ever since grade school, William enjoyed penning original short stories.  They were a good outlet for his overactive imagination.  William grew up in the Augusta, Georgia area before moving to Athens, Georgia where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Georgia.  After college, William returned his focus to writing.  Sebastian and the Afterlife was his first novel.  Besides writing, the author also enjoys writing and recording music and filmmaking.  William is married and currently lives on the outskirts of Athens, Georgia.
