Local Financial Advisor Asa Lakeman Receives Investment Sales Leader Award.

While the increase in business came from many different avenues, Lakeman noted his first focus is on his current clientele "My focus has always been on the people that have put their trust in me to help them achieve their future goals. Due to my focus I do not have to spend any time prospecting for clients as a vast majority of new clients are on a referral basis only.” explained Lakeman. "I think many advisors fall into a trap of looking for new business when if they spent their time focusing on helping their current clients the business would come to them.”

When Asa Lakeman is out of the office he enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica & children, as well as investing time in helping others through volunteerism and community service. During his six years of service at the Grand Valley State University Alumni Association he served on the Executive Board & chaired the Community Outreach Committee, during which time Grand Valley’s Community Outreach Week was developed. He currently serves as a Founding Board Member of the GVSU Young Alumni Council.

Additionally he has volunteered or organized volunteer events for Feeding America West Michigan, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Kids Food Basket, Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital, WGVU, GVSU Admissions Alumni Ambassadors and the Special Olympics.
