Twin Cities Hospital Welcomes New Governing Board Members

Assistant Paso Robles City Manager and Radiation Oncologist Join the Hospital Board

Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Twin Cities Community Hospital recently welcomed two new members to its Governing Board: Assistant City Manager for the City of Paso Robles Meg Williamson and James Longo, MD.

The 15-member Governing Board consists of corporate representatives, physicians on the hospital’s medical staff and representatives of the community. The board is responsible for overseeing the medical staff, the quality of professional services and general business affairs of the hospital.

Over the past 25 years, Williamson’s city responsibilities have included long-range and short-term planning programs; economic and tourism development within the community; administrative supervising of programs within the office of the City Manager; and special project implementation. Williamson also serves as the Project Manager in the development of the Salinas River Corridor Vision and the City’s multi-million dollar River Parkway Grant that was successful in purchasing and protecting 1.5 miles of river corridor and its associated habitat. She is a founding member of the Paso Robles Festival of the Arts. Williamson holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  She and her husband Hugh have been north county residents since 1986.  They have two daughters each attending University of California campuses.  

Dr. Longo, a local Radiation Oncologist, has been practicing at the Templeton Radiation Oncology Center for 12 years. He earned his Bachelor and Medical Degrees at the University of Albuquerque, New Mexico. His postgraduate training has been with the Oregon Health Sciences University and UCLA Center for Health Sciences. He has served as Clinical Professor for UCLA, University of New Mexico and Stanford University. In addition to medicine, Dr. Longo enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two daughters when they are home from college.

The new board members will take the seats vacated by Hal Carden who has retired after serving on the Governing Board for 5 years and Jim Cartland, M.D. who served as the Chief of Staff for the past two years.
