Hip Healthy and Holistic is proud to announce that a portion of all proceeds from the children’s book The Little Lotus Learns About Wellness will be donated to TargetCancer, Inc.  

The Little Lotus Learns About Wellness is a tender story of a mother teaching her child the many ways to stay healthy in mind, body, and spirit.  The simple text and humorous pictures will entertain while educating children ages 3-7 on the essentials of health and wellness.

TargetCancer, Inc. funds research into rare and lesser known cancers.  Cholangiocarcinoma, mesothelioma, and esophageal cancer are just some examples of the cancers that lack funding, research and specific treatment protocols because they are considered “rare.”  For more information about TargetCancer, Inc. please go to www.targetcancer.info.

Maryellen Murphy Ruggiero is the author and illustrator of The Little Lotus Learns About Wellness.  She received her B.A. in Wellness and the Healing Arts from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is passionate about yoga, the arts, and the benefits of a holistic lifestyle.  She currently lives in Massachusetts with her husband, son, and the family dog.
