Follow on Google News | Pop Art Rabbi Featured on Oprah's Next ChapterThe Pop Art Rabbi's art show “Chassidim of Color” will be featured on 'Oprahs next chapter’. The show explores the Chassidic community in Brooklyn and is titled “First Look: America’s Hidden Culture”.
By: yitzchok moully is in the midst of ‘Oprah’s next chapter’. One of her early stops was the Chassidic community in Brooklyn where she meets with families and Rabbis in the community. The two part series is called First Look: America's Hidden Culture, and Yitzchok Moully the Pop Art Rabbi will be featured in the second segment. Moully serves as a Youth Rabbi at the Chabad Jewish Center in Basking Ridge, NJ. Back in October Moully curated a pop up gallery in the Chassidic section of Crown Heights Brooklyn. The show was titled ‘Chassidim of color’ and displayed the work of artists in the Chassidic community, sharing the great creativity in the Chassidic community. The art show was an amazing success with the doors staying open till 4am on some days with hundreds of people enjoying the show and not wanting to leave. The amazing thing is that artist just came off the street wanting to be part of it, from a 13 year old boy with string art to a 70+ year old lady with digital art, it definitely was a hit in the community. During the art show, Oprah’s film crew stopped in to take it in and interview Moully on what it is all about. That clip has made it in to Oprah’s show to be screened on February 15 as part of the second episode.
