Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- (Dallas, Texas) Does Paul McKenna's Hypnotic Gastric Band really help people reduce their weight by tricking the body into believing that it has been through this popular weight loss surgery? McKenna admits that it does not work for every client he who has come to see him, but he does claim that it has worked in 7 out of 10 cases.

"Gastric band Hypnosis has been very popular in the UK for many years, "states Mark V Johnson, Clinical Hypnotherapist from Dallas, Texas. "I have many hypnotist friends in the UK who have been using this hypnotic procedure to help people reduce their weight for many years, Johnson added."

With nationalize healthcare in the UK it is not easy for people to get approval for the actual Gastric Band surgery, this is commonly known in the US as LAP BAND®. Hypnosis is successful in terms of simulating the actual surgery because once an impression is presented to the subconscious mind while in a deep state of hypnosis, the subconscious mind actually accepts this idea as reality and the client loses weight just as though they had the actual surgery. "The subconscious mind is unable to judge, so it cannot tell the difference between the Gastric Band Hypnosis and LAP BAND® surgery, so the effect in terms of weight reduction is quite often comparable if not better with Gastric Band Hypnosis, " continues Johnson."

Mark V. Johnson is a Second Generation Hypnotherapist whose father was not only a Hypnotherapist, but he was also a Bariatric Physician. "Dad became involved with Bariatric Medicine (Medical Weight Management) before Bariatric Surgery like LAP BAND®, Gastric Bypass and the Gastric Sleeve became popular and he never like the idea of weight loss surgery, " Johnson said. His father, Dr. Robert M. Johnson was well respected by his peers in the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and served as both the President and Chairman of the Board of the society during his association with them.

In his hypnotherapy practice in Dallas, Texas, the younger Johnson has been working with Gastric Band Hypnosis for several years now and has seen results the are in line with what has been reported by Paul McKenna on the Dr. Oz show. By providing a package of 5 sessions, he has found he is about to provide additional benefits to his clients by addressing emotional eating and gradual reduction in terms of qpgfh portion control leading up to the simulated Gastric Band surgery session. By assisting his clients in dealing with the emotions that cause them to overeat, he has found that in many cases his clients are more successful in terms of reducing their weight and keeping it off when compared to the actual LAP BAND® surgery.

"I had 4 new Gastric Band clients start their sessions in December and several of them were able to lose between 12 and 30 pounds before they even came in for the Gastric Band Surgery session, "Johnson continued. Their progress has continued after the Gastric Band Surgery session.  Like McKenna, Johnson has had a great deal of success with Hypnosis in terms of helping people stop smoking, lose weight, release stress and anxiety, move past fears and phobias and has taught people who suffer from insomnia how to use self hypnosis to help them get to sleep and sleep throughout the night.

Johnson added that there isn’t any surgery involved at all. By using the power of suggestion while the client is in a hypnotic trance state, they actually believe that they have had Gastric Band surgery.  Then after the Gastric Band Hypnosis therapy they feel full quickly after they start to eat since they are convinced that they have been through the actual Gastric Band surgery procedure.

In the UK the Surgery is called Gastric Band Surgery, so the hypnotic version is called Gastric Band Hypnosis or the Gastric Hypnotic Band procedure. In the US the procedure is commonly known as LAP BAND® surgery, though due to that term being a registered trademark of Allergan, Inc. the hypnotic version is usually referred to as Gastric Band Hypnosis.

Gastric Band Hypnosis, LAP BAND® surgery, Gastric Bypass surgery, and Gastric Sleeve surgery are all options for those who want to reduce their weight, however Gastric Band Hypnosis is the only alternative that does not involve going under the knife. So it's up to each person to decide for themselves which way they want to go to reduce their weight, and when giving the option of surgery or hypnosis, many people are making the decision to change their minds and change their lives with Gastric Band Hypnosis.
