Camille Marino first victim of the NDAA Bill 1867 implemented on New years Eve

Few Americans saw this coming. While most Americans celebrated New Years our president was signing off on the bill that strips American people of our constitutional rights.

Feb. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- This bill gives this president and every future president the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world and yes right here in the good ole USA! This means you can be arrested and held indefinitely without being formally charged with a crime or given a trial. I grow weary of trying to warn the American people to wake up and see what is now right in front of their eyes, so for those who want to read these words themselves -- right in the Senate bill you can read it at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112s1867pcs/pdf/BILLS-112s1867pcs.pdf

Here is an example of this NDAA Bill in full effect. Two animal-rights activists were arrested on Saturday at a protest of the University of Florida's use of primates in research.
Camille Marino and Lisa Grossman, part of the animal rights group Negotiation is Over, were protesting outside the Gator Gala awards ceremony at Emerson Alumni Hall. Gainesville police arrested Marino on an out-of-state warrant and Grossman for a suspended driver's license.

Marino, 47, is being held at the Alachua County jail and awaiting extradition to Michigan. The warrant stems from a case in which she posted the home address, phone number and other information online about a researcher at Wayne State University in Detroit. The researcher obtained a court order for the information to be removed.
Marino was held in criminal contempt for failing to do so and ordered to pay more than $6,281 in his legal fees. Supporters are doing what they can to raise money for her defense and donations can be sent to Pay Pal address "thecove3@gmail.com." News came out that actually said Camille Marino was arrested because the University of Florida knew she was investigating the vivisection procedures and was about to expose the fact they were violating the Animal Welfare Act. There are rumors she will be charged with the Animal Terrorism Law.-Gainesville Sun
Tim Gier has organised a demonstration on WEDNESDAY, Feb 8th at 5:30pm at the Bo Diddley Downtown Community Plaza, Gainesville, FL.
Tim's group, FL Vegans for Peace, of which Camille is an active member, works with, and through, its members - to find social and political solutions to the problems of inequality, injustice and intolerance. Camille's arrest is a symptom of those very problems - and so we must act!

Grossman, 50, of Jacksonville, was charged with a second-degree misdemeanor for presenting police with a suspended driver's license. Gainesville police spokesman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said that it's against the law to have a suspended driver's license even if the person isn't driving. Since when is it against the law to have a suspended license? It is against the law to "Drive" on a suspended license. If it was illegal to have your license suspended there would be a lot of people in jail all over the country.

Michael Budkie of Stop Animal Exploitation Now, an animal rights group working with Negotiation is Over on the primate campaign, questioned the motive for the arrests.
Negotiation is Over's campaign against animal research at UF has included posting the personal information of university employees online and seeking public records on research involving primates. Marino sued UF for failing to provide records, leading to an Alachua County Circuit Court judge ordering last month for them to be released.

Marino and Grossman were protesting in December 2010 at a fundraiser at UF when they were issued trespass warnings by university police. Grossman was later charged with trespassing for violating the warning by distributing fliers on campus offering a $100 reward for information on students involved in research. As you can see they want her and other activists like her silenced. The warnings don't apply to the sidewalk outside Emerson Alumni Hall, located on University Avenue across from the main campus.
β€œIt's my opinion that these arrests took place at the protest in a concerted effort to stifle dissent against the university,” he said. Negotiation is Over's campaign against animal research at UF has included posting the personal information of university employees online and seeking public records on research involving primates. Marino sued UF for failing to provide records, leading to an Alachua County Circuit Court judge ordering last month for them to be released.

Another example, Arnold Christopher Lagergren was arrested for taking pictures of animals being treated cruelty at Marine Mammal Conservancy. Police reports describe him as affiliated with the international Animal Liberation Front organization, which advocates "direct action" against animal captivity...Monroe County Court Judge Regan Ptomey set bonds totaling $30,000 on the four charges, according to court records. It is preposterous to think it is illegal to take pictures of helpless animals being abused, tortured or mistreated. What is our country turning into? We must ask ourselves, when did we as a country formed "Under God" with high moral standards turn into this uncompassionate, uncaring & unmoral country we are today? Don't you think it is time to stand up for our rights and freedoms and God given liberties before they are stripped from us permanently?
